The Wisconsin Association of Student Business Office Personnel and Administrators (WASBOPA) is a non-profit organization consisting of colleges and universities primarily located in the state of Wisconsin, although we also network with other higher education institutions in the upper Midwest. Our purpose is to provide a forum for professionals in higher education to exchange ideas, information and technology and to discuss concerns and trends that affect our campuses.
An annual conference held in April is organized by WASBOPA steering committee members to promote professional development and provide attendees with an opportunity to network and develop business relationships with colleagues in higher education. The steering committee is made up of a select group of volunteers from participating institutions and businesses that service the higher education community. These individuals utilize their wealth of experience and contacts within the industry to establish an informative and interactive conference agenda that benefits both new and experienced administrators and staff. Conference attendees include professionals from private and public colleges and universities that are bursars, loan collection officers, business office and financial aid managers and personnel, and account receivable and accounting personnel. Participating sponsors, whose assistance is vital to the organization’s existence, include debt recovery and loan collection agencies, billing services, and tuition management firms.
